World Taekwondo equipment testing

Since 2023 we have been World Taekwondo's official laboratory for PSS compliance testing. We test your electronic scoring system against WT's guidelines and send a signed report to WT, which decides on homologation.

Official World Taekwondo laboratory for PSS compliance testing

For manufacturers of Protector Scoring Systems (PSS) who need WT homologation. The same kick should give the same score, on every protector, in every match: that is what we measure, impact by impact, against the World Taekwondo PSS Compliance Test Guidelines.

What we test

  1. Architecture, scoring, reliability and safety of the scoring system.
  2. Body protectors, head protectors, transmitters, receiver and match software, and the sensor gloves and socks for the techniques tested.
  3. Repeatability, linearity, missed hits and uniformity, measured on every impact.
  4. The firmware and calibration actually loaded on your units, checked against what you declared.

Good to know

Failed test: one re-test free of charge within 6 months, with the same scope. Every change must be declared. Development pre-tests. Before the official application, we test your prototype on the same rig and with the same software used for compliance tests. You receive a general assessment of where the product stands and our recommendations. A pre-test gives no official result and is not a homologation test. Available to every manufacturer on the same terms; quoted on request.

How to request a test

  1. Fill in the application form below: company, contacts, the equipment, sizes, and the test you need (first homologation, re-test with your Test ID, or development pre-test).
  2. We reply with a Test ID and the list of material and documents to send: manuals and procedures in English, and the Application Form with your declarations of firmware, match software and calibration versions.
  3. You ship the equipment. Payment is due before the test starts.
  4. The standard test is completed within 10 working days from receipt of the equipment and payment, and you have the results within 2 working days of completion.
  5. The signed report goes to World Taekwondo, which takes the homologation decision.

Collection and use of personal data

  • Purpose: to receive, assess and answer your application and send you your Test ID and next steps.
  • Items. Required: company name and country; name, email and phone of the person in charge; name and email of the technical contact; brand, model and version of the equipment, the components to test, the type of test requested, and whether it is already homologated. Optional: website, role, sizes, a short description, the previous Test ID, the homologated model and version, and attachments. You may decline the optional items; this does not affect your application.
  • Retention: application data 12 months after the last contact; email correspondence until your application is closed, then deleted; if a test goes ahead, for the time the test contract and the law require.
  • You may refuse consent. Without it we cannot process the application, and the form cannot be sent; there is no other disadvantage.

Privacy policy

We reply with a Test ID, the list of material to send and the next steps. The full declarations of firmware, match software and calibration versions are collected with our Application Form.

We use Google Analytics to see which pages help visitors. If you agree, usage data is sent to Google in the United States. Nothing loads unless you agree; the site works without it, and you can change your choice at any time. Privacy policy
